Nope Bob, no box. Neither Ike or John are very big and John was much younger then I expected. I ended up with 24 pages of notes and have some more pictures with Gary Klein and Mark Davis. I'd post tonight but I'm plum beat. Couple long days and a 2 hour drive into that 30 mph head wind has done me in.
I didn't get a picture with Pete Gluzek who was super. He has fished Champlain and the Hudson down by me so was fun to chat with him. The break out sessons are sometimes as informative as the formal sessions.
I'll share my notes with Bob cause he promised to pick up my MG bill. Bob, it might have been cheaper to drive down and go to the BU!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

It looks like you had a great time at "school". Get a degree? ;D Any free tackle goodies? A friend of mine drew David Walker in a pro-am at Champlain. He had a great time fishing with him. Mardi Gras? ?

Fishing with Walker had to be a ball. He was fun southern boy who doesn't own a spinning rod!
He spent some time on driving a bass boat in 10-12 waves on Ontario and how to drive the troughs. Not sure I'd have the nerve to do that. Told the story of having a co-angler and told him night before what to expect out on the water. Asked the guy "you OK with going out in that". Guy says he was on an Aircraft carrier in Nam and went though a typhoon with waves breaking over the bow of that. Walker says "OK, my kind of partner and away they went". He has had breakers bust over the top of his boat and literately filled his Ranger. Said that's when he appreciated Rangers level float feature! What he learned was every loose piece of plastic in your boat will find the bilge pumps..... He carries a spare industrial water (gas run) pump when he goes out on big water like Ontario after that cause his slowed to a trickle which wasn't going to help. Note to self, never sign up to be co-angler to fish on Great lakes!
Mark Davis told some great stories too, very entertaining and informative. Gary Klein spent more time on mental side of fishing and doing what you like/know. THAT was good to hear because if you don't like fishing a certain way chances are you are not going to be very good at it but you should at least try it before coming to that conclusion. Sooooooo........ We will be trying a drop shot, shakey head (power not finesse), and more jig fishing. BTW, when it came to jigs (Walker's session but also applied to Bower, Biffle, others) the color choices were 95% black and blue, black and blue, and black and blue in dirty or clear water. It just works and keeps things simple. Concentrate on areas, presentation, and size was the message.
Hearing Ike and Crews make fun of Biffle and the way he acts/talks plus how he claims water was funnier then all get out.

Hey Brian, great report and pictures. My wife told me that I was a dope not to go. Of course, she doesn't know about the Mardi Gras. Great group of instructors. Mark Davis instructed at the last one that I attended. Had some very good discussions with him in between sessions. All of the pros go out of their way to be helpful. Bob

Definitely worth the trip. Learned a lot of new things but also got reinforcement that a lot of things already doing was the right thing. (Fishing your own way, using techniques you are good at and enjoy). The break out sessions are informative not to mention entertaining. Met some good people too and made some connections by offering help when folks come to Champlain (EVERYBODY wants to come) and have a standing offer to fish central Maine if I want. They have huge SM too. I ended up with 24 mostly full pages of notes I will refer to for years. I still have my notes from the one I attended 7 years ago.
