Out of St. Albans Bay at 9:30 with a young friend (anyone under 50 is young to me)who never was on a bass boat before. I think he enjoyed the riding more than the fishing. Weed growth is just starting up here, so I keyed on rocky bottoms in shallow (3-5')water. There were smallies everywhere we went. Quantity was excellent . Quality eh!. Fished to 3:30 and I caught 35 keepers and 10 dinks. My young friend managed only two keepers. The second came when he fished from my beached boat, while I went to get the trailer. I tried to get him into the Senkos, but they didn't seem to work for him. All of my fish caught on Senkos. Surprize! Only 3 fish 3 lbs or better. Biggest 3.25. Nothing really camera worthy. Unlike some folks, I did remember my camera. Bob

Sounds like a good day to me Bob. 3.25 lbs is camera worthy. Pictures are worth a thousand words right.

Smallmouths must be starting to pull pretty hard now that the water has warmed. Fun indeed! Were you seeing bedding activity or is it mostly over now?

Lot of empty beds. Did catch a couple with eggs, but it is near the end. Bob
