Bill Brown and I arrived at about 9:30 (long ride) and launched. This is a beautiful large lake, but the ramp leaves a lot to be desired. Water temp was 62 when we hit the water and it got up to 68 by 3:30 when we left. Clear water to 10-12 feet with a tea stain. Numerous islands and to much area to fish in 1 day, but we had a ball. Nothing over 2 lbs, but we boated 53 SM 1 pickeral a perch and a few crappies. It's worth taking another run down to try and cover more water.

How were the black flies? That area is notoriously bad for them, but it's been dry this spring. Be careful of the speed limit there. The paddlers are organized, vocal and frequently try to have motor boats banned from the reservoir.

The flys weren't that bad over most of the area we covered. The very back of the lake was a bite dicey. We only saw 2 trailers at the launch area and never saw them on the lake.

Glad to hear the bugs weren't bad. We used to go there this time of year and needed head nets. Once I ran to get the trailer, trying to shed a few. Now I wait until they are mostly done with. Next up....deer flies. Thanks for the reply.
