rvq(Bob) and I fished the Ti area on Monday and Tuesday.
Monday 5/24
We met at the Chimney Point/Crown Point Ferry at about 9, both of us delayed by traffic and construction. We launched from the Ti Ramp at around 10:30 and headed north of IP. We fished the shoreline of a few of the bays on the VT side. Most of our bass were caught on senkos. We caught 25-30 LM. We each had double figures and Bob had more that me. He had the largest fish at 2.75#. We quit at about 5:30 to get out of the heat and have a couple cold ones.
Tuesday 5/25
Today we concentrated on points north of the Ti ramp. Again most of our success was with senkos. Bob caught 10 fish before I had one. The key was to find the weeds and to cast on either side of the weedline, the pockets, or into the weeds. Bob caught a couple of fish in the 3.25#-3/5# range, then caught this 4# LM
Bob 4# LM
Tuesday was very hot. We decided to leave this area and go for a boat ride. While cruising it felt like air conditioning and when we stopped it felt like an oven. After noon we would fish for a little while then go for a cruise.
We fished on one of the points on the NY side and Bob caught a 4.5# LM.
Bob 4.5# LM
Bob caught 20 bass and I had about a dozen. My biggest was only about 2#. I dropped Bob off at around 4:30 so he could catch the Ti-Shoreham ferry. I then went back out to catch my goal of a 5# fish. Plan was to fish from 5-8, but at 6PM I had only caught a few small bass and was hot so I quit.
Both days the water temp broke 70 in the afternoon. This was my third and last trip to Ti this spring. I did not get the 5# fish; best was a 4.5# LM last Tuesday. Each trip was enjoyable.
