Needing another entry to round out my Master Angler 5 I headed to a well known spot for big 'gills. Saw a few along the bank that would make the grade but got no takers. Did not have much time to play so I tried something different. Lost a certain MA fish right after making the change, but it was soon forgotten on the next cast when I got this 9.5" filling my 5 species required for a pin;
Amazing how easy it can be when you get things figured out, no matter the species.
Between yard work, work and other projects I have had not enough time to fish as much as I'd like. Again Friday I had very little time but enough to grab the panfish rod and try a different spot for 'gills. Master Angler fish were the norm, not the exception;
Had two other fish that would qualify but the camera had a low battery.
Saturday had to work. Nursed a cold and an injury as long as I could Saturday afternoon (about 1/2 an hour) and went out to get the boat uncovered and head to the river. Just as I was backing up the skies parted and down came the rain. Changed the plan and went back to where I left off Friday night;
Had two other 9" that I did not photo as it was pouring rain off and on, mostly on. Most fish were 8" and beautifully colored. Also got crappie, smallmouth, largemouth,perch and rock bass. Glad to see fish are still in the CTR after a very poor ice fishing season. Spent lots of time fishing the same places thru the ice with hardly a fish to show for it,
