Brock guilted me into posting some reports today so here goes. They are all from last week (May 17-21).
Monday I fished Cossayuna and did okay. Caught a fair number but there a a lot of post-spawners there. Probably had about 12lbs. Most of my fish came on the deeper edges with a green pumpkin 3/8th ounce jig. Also caught some smaller fish on a buzz frog back in the pads in the north end next to the flag pole.
Tuesday I went to Benson and ran down almost to South Bay, tried some outer weed edges but ended up in the backwaters. Caught a lot of fish on a buzz frog and then switched to a Bronzeye to hook more fish. It worked, caught 2 over 4lbs. Lost a monster. Also caught some on flukes. Lots and lots of fish on beds down there.
Thursday I couldn't resist heading back to Benson for more frog action. I didn't go as far south but still did very well. About 17lbs again. All on the Bronzeye.
Friday I headed to St. Cath. and did very well. Caught lots of fish in the 2-3 range w/ one 4lber. Swam a green pumpkin 3/8th ounce jig and nailed 'em, they were all over the beds. Caught a lot of smallmouth which was very refreshing!
Happy fishing!

In NY -- I am thinking closer to Shaftsbury than Bomo or St Cath. I have heard it can be very good. That NY license is an issue for me

It is indeed in NY. North of Cambridge and definitely closer than Bomo and about the same as St. Catherine. Has pretty good fishing in the spring and fall, gets a little too pressured in the summer though. A fair amount of boat traffic and not quite enough deep water.
