Probably everyone has noticed how expensive a good jig is these days. Luckily there are still some inexpensive alternatives. One is the Renegade jig that Wal-Mart sells. Bought 40 of them on sale for $1 each during a clearance sale in black/blue in 3/8 and 1/2 oz size. The regular price is about $1.50. Its good enough of a jig for me but they don't have much of a selection of colors. I also like something in a crawfish color so usually I try and find something somewhere in that color for a decent price. Last year I couldn't find much I liked for under $3 so I kept looking. Here's what I came up with; www.landbigfish.com/Boss/Boss-Sparky-Jig.cfmBought some 3/8 and 1/2 oz. in Green Pumpkin www.landbigfish.com/Bass-Assault/Bass-Assault-Regular-Replacement-Skirts.cfmAnd then picked out a skirt color I liked. Ended up with a jig I liked for about $2.60. Not too bad by today's prices.

I found my self with a bunch of jig heads, but skirts/bands tend to fail. Jigs last forever. I found a skirt making tool/skirt supply business so I can make my own. Pretty easy and now I can custom make my skirts for like 50 cents each instead of $2.50 or more for two skirts. I can mix/match colors at will. Will know in a couple months if they work.
