I made a solo trip to Ti this past Sunday-Tuesday.
Sunday 5/16:
The drive to the Crown Point/Chimney Point Ferry takes me 1 1/2 hours. I launched at Ti around 10:30. The paved parking lot was pretty full. Sunday was a windy day. My plan was to fish the bays north of the Ti ramp, but the wind made it so that I did not go very far. I fished the VT side. Caught 5 LM and 1 SM. 3 of the LM were 3-3.25#. At 4PM got tired of being rocked by the wind and quit. Water temp was 59-60. Fish caught on Ratl-Trap and Senko.
Monday 5/17
My plan was to fish down south and work my way up. Less wind than Sunday. Launched at 8:45 and went down to Maple Bend which is about 16-17 miles south of Ti Ramp. Original plan was to work Maple Bend, Red Rock Bay, and Peters Bay, but I had no success at Maple Bend. However, one of the most interesting parts of my trip happened there. I met these two guys who were hunting Gar in a boat especially set up for that purpose. They showed me one of the Gar they had shot with a bow and arrow. Then I saw them shoot one. They can't shoot Gar on the NY side.
I then moved up to near Mill Bay and caught a couple LM. Worked my way up fishing the railroad fill on the NY side. Then I went north of the Ti Ramp and fished the Bays on the VT side. I caught 5 more LM, one was 3.25#. I hooked 3 nice LM outside the weed line in 7-8 feet of water. All of them came off at the boat. I quit at 5:00 with a total of 7 LM. Fish caught on wack Senko and shaky-head jig. Water temp ranged from 57-61.
Tuesday 5/18
Super weather today. Launched at about 9:30. Calm wind until late afternoon then moderate wind. Water temp 57-65. I started out just south of Fort Ti. Right away I caught a 3.25# LM on a wacky Senko and a pickerel with a spinnerbait. Then went south to outside Mill Bay with no success.
I headed north of the Ti Ramp and fished the bays. The wind was dead calm and you could see bass, rock bass, and sunfish in the shallows. The bass were cruising and not on beds. Water temp had warmed significantly. I used a wacky Senko. Color was Watermelon or a Purple Laminate-color did not seem to matter. I ended up with 24 LM and 8 of them were 3# or more. My best fish was this 4.5# LM. I took the pic using the timer on my camera.
One of my goals was to catch a 5# or more fish on the southern part of the lake. I hope to get one more chance to fish down there before I move north.
Please let me know if there is any information that I am not including but should be including.
