Just hoping to make a few of you grin.......I attempted ice fishing at Lake Whitingham today, my second day out this year and likely the last. First hole I cut went straight into the mud, second hole I cut had mud and an inch or so of water. I stuck with it until I found 2.5' of water beneath the ice and actually caught a dozen perch . By July these areas will hold 30' of water.

Some nice browns taken in the derby this past weekend. Top 3 were 4-5 lbs.

OK, I know it's been a while since I was on the forum, and I'm trying to read through and catch up on some threads ... but did the fishing world as we know it recently come to some Apocalyptic End? Brian .... ice fishing .... Too much work and not enough ice this year. I should have known that the area I was looking to ice fish was dry, but the light was so flat it was hard to see. Looking forward to April and May on Harriman.
