VTF&W is now offering a five year fishing license. The cost is $119, a savings of $6 over the current one year price of $25. Of course a greater savings potential exists if the single year price goes up. Anyone bite? I didn't, but I thought about it. My crystal ball was fuzzy as to when, and how much, the next price increase will be. ;D ;D Besides, buying a new license is a pleasant ritual each January.

A few years back I finally got smart and bought a life time Fishing/hunting license just before the price went up another $160. Granted it was $600 but you break even, even if the prices didn't go up (and you know they will) within 6-7 years. The other big benefit, in NY anyway, is the license is still good if you move out of State. It's something to consider. I wish I did it decades ago when it was only few hundred dollars.

I am glad to see they now offer that but thought the value was not there. Look at how much you save renewing a drivers lic. or vehicle registration for longer terms and compare. If I could save $15 or more I'd buy it.

Just a reminder, 100% disabled Vets get a free lifetime Hunting and Fishing license. Just take proof of disability to F&W HQ and they issue it on the spot

Just got my truck re-registration in the mail. It went up $5? When will the craziness end? $70 now for me to drive my truck PLUS the annual inspection. 2-years was $129 - savings of $11. That still doesn't seem like alot of me, but between two vehicles, it's $22, so a little better.

Vermont is now offering more selections in it's Conservation License Plates. They have added a Loon, Deer and Trout (brook)to the existing Peregrine and Catamount. So for an additional $23 per year you can stylize your bumper. The extra $ goes to non-game wildlife funds. So it's win-win. Too bad there isn't a Bass or Pike license plate .
