Falling short of earning the VT Master Angler pin by one specie in each of the past two years, the Mrs. pulled it off in 2012! I still can't believe that a bluegill wasn't among her entries . But, she is somewhat of a "big lures equal big bites" kind of angler. So, when she does get a 'gill or a pike for that matter I'm sure it'll be a string stretcher. Maybe 2013 will be the year. April 14th this 4 lb. 19.25" smallmouth hit her slow rolled #3 Mepps at Harriman. Small lures worked best that day, as she schooled me . It's my jerkbait dangling off of the rod by the bow. Zero bites on it . April 19th, after rgang informed us that the crappies "were on", Diane landed this 13.5"er. First fish of the day. Hit a Zoom Super Fluke, near some old wood, in a West river setback.. May 17th in a CT river setback Diane got a long but thin 20.12" largemouth to hit her chatterbait. I was getting the camera out for an "action shot", she said "never mind that get the net! Still May 17th, but across the river at a different setback of the CT river, the rockbass were active. This 10"er hit an old Rebel Wee R frog crankbait. The same lure that she caught a Master Angler bullhead on the previous year . Number 5! A Champlain pickerel landed on Nov. 6th. Hit her "big" chatterbait in 3-4 fow. Very exciting because the pickerel were hard for us to find this fall.

I know that spot (pickerel) and the guy who built that house in the back ground! Great report and congrats Diane!

Congrats Diane! I was pulling for you, and I'm really glad you got it! I was getting a little worried for you .... you left it until November to finish it off!

Nice job Di! Glad to see you out on the water more this year. Hope 2013 is "Lucky 13" for all of us. Congrats to your "cameraman". He does good work.
