Hello: I'm finally getting around to officially joining this forum, after following it for about six months. First of all: thanks to all of you for posting the great information, photos and tips. Very helpful and entertaining too.
My name is Pete, I live up in Morrisville, got back into fishing about five years ago and am now the proud owner of a Ranger Comanche vs175. My fishing partner is my much older brother Boneman; he snoops around on this board too; not sure if he is official or not. His boat is a 16 foot lund. We usually fish Alburg/ the Islands, Otter Creek/LOC area , and south lake out of Larrabees. We're still learning the ropes but have occasionally done OK.
We're playing hooky on Friday and planning on our first SM trip to Alburg; anyone have any idea on water temp up there?
Thanks again for the tips, hope to meet some of you on the lake!
Pete

Welcome aboard Pete, look forward to your reports. I fish south lake so can't help with temps but I'm sure someone here will. Congrats on your new toy, should be a lot of fun.

Welcome aboard Pete. One of our club members was fishing out of St. Albans Bay last Thursday and he said that the water temps were 48 to 50 up there. I would think they would be a little warmer after this weekend, but that's the best I can do for you. I look forward to your reports.

Hi Pete. Welcome to the forum. Good to have some more input from up north. Seems like most of us fish south of the bridge. Have been to LOC a few times in recent years. This year I was there on 5/5 and it seemed to early. Last year around 7/1 and it seemed a bit too late thought there were fish there.

Hi Roy: thanks. Yes, Little Otter can be a tough place, is not one of my favorites but is close to where my brother lives and usually we can find fish somewhere between there and Thompson's Point across the bay. We were also in there recently, I think April 28, and caught one sick looking SM.

Hi Roy: thanks. We were also in there recently, I think April 28, and caught one sick looking SM. Pete That would be one more sick looking smallmouth than I caught! The creek was so muddy I decided to head for Gardiner but all I could fish was the south (lee side) as the wind was 20+. Came back into the creek, looked for the warmest water which turned out to be way back and 56 degrees. Back on the trailer two hours later and launched at the Slang south of the bridge which saved the day but cost me a cell phone...........long story. Its a nice area to fish under the right conditions and there are plenty of fish but never had the intense fishing the south lake can provide. Again welcome, looking forward to a LOC area report.
