Got to the landing at 6. Right next to the north ramp was a big bon fire with a dead dog fully ablaze, (WTF)--- no-one around??
Headed out and caught fish right off and all day. Water temp was 50 in morning, 58 what we left at 2:30.
One small pike, one big pickeral, one smally, and 63 LM. Biggest, 5lbs, most were 2-3.
Fish were all shallow, also took the boat into the woods and got a bunch.
Fun day

Nice numbers.
There was a half decayed coyote there on Sunday. That may be what they were burning. Either way, not a good way to dispose of. Doesn't look to good.

Sounds like it was this coyote. Looked pretty creepy and would imagine some would get very upset if they saw it---especialy if you showed up with young kids

Glad to hear you are gettting fish shallow. We were out on the 14th as well, great day to be on the water. Found bass shallow ( in numbers) only late in p.m. and they were larger than the fish we got in 5' to 6'.
I met up with a guy near Benson's who'd just landed a big LM but had no scale. He called over to see if we had one he could use. Quickly I passed over ours.......6 lb. 5 oz., very well proportioned.

I was looking at a picture of one of the nicer ones and noticed the tail is worn. Guess they want to start the deed. I imagine the weather for the next few days will slow them down a little. Crazy year?  |

I guess we all passed each other on the 14th. I was out and got 18 LM 3 SM a 6 Pike. Several bass in the 4 lb range but I haven't been able to crack 5 lbs. 2 of the pike were over 5 lbs. Most fish hit a lipless crank, a few hit on spinnerbaits.
