Went to Larabees today with my dad and dog for the first trip of the year. Water temps started at 51 and we got them to 54 way in shallow. The fish were out off from points, 4-6 feet, leading into spawning coves. Nothing in real shallow. I caught 13 and my dad 2. 3 of mine were over 4 and 1 of those went 5. Two were on a jig and all of the rest were on a lipless, no it was not KVD's red eye shad, dragged real slow along the bottom. It felt good to hook into some after a long winter. They all feel like hogs this time of year. Good for a first trip and the only thing that went wrong was a broken rod. Here are a couple pictures. Biggest of the day. I tried to show some scale. The dog is 100 lbs so he has a big head,

I think my dog stepped on it. It was a cheap old rod and needed to be replaced anyway. Ordered the new one last night.
vtbasser, the second picture is just outside where we got them last spring. They haven't moved in yet. Hopefully this weekend they will be.
