Not many fish today but I'll have a lot of good memories. First fish of the day was a 13.5" crappie. Been trying to get one all winter! I'm still trying! The tip-up popped just as Ashley was coming on with her "Grampy" and she nailed it on one of my tip-ups. Couldn't believe it! Here I've been at it all winter and for her it was her first time out and right off a Master Angler crappie. I couldn't be happier ! Ashley with brothers Andrew and Dylan. Could not get her to pose holding the fish. Girls! A better pic of the 13.5" crappie The rest of the day was slow but the kids all managed to catch some fish some on tip-ups some jigging. Only perch, crappie and a pickerel today. Not sure if the fishing is going to get better or worse before ice out. The river has been very hard to figure out post Irene. Ryan's first fish ever thru the ice! Kid's fishing tip-ups Andrew, Ashley, Ryan, Dylan and Dylan (not Daryl and Daryl)

Regardless of the number of fish, the kids look very happy. Those are truly good times. Makes me wish that my grand kids were close by. Thanks for the report.
