Was checking out the daily special the other day at Tackle Warehouse, and the Luck E Strike RC STX jerkbaits caught my eye. Saw some unique and realistic colors.
I've been using Rapala's a long time but they are getting too expensive in all models except for the Husky Jerk. Problem with Huskies is the finish fades or chips and is pretty well shot after one season.
I'll try one and if there any good I won't tell anyone.....................................but you guys ;D!

Like my Bomber long A's. Tough bait to beat and they hold up.

Like my Bomber long A's. Tough bait to beat and they hold up. Very true. I've been fishing them a along time. Only use two colors, gold/black/orange for smallies and bone/black/orange for largies. These are floaters. Had two suspending Long A's that both sunk like submarines, so I tried other brands and settled on Rapala but as I said they are getting pricey. Just reminded myself I got one on sale at Dick's last fall in blue/silver for walleye, guess what? That one floated to the top when it was paused. I'll stand by the floating Long A as a fish catcher though .

That gold black orange has saved my day many times but more for LM then Small. Fire tiger was better this year and has been good for me for years. This year the black back over clear/silver worked in clear water in October/November.

This year the black back over clear/silver worked in clear water in October/November. A gold Bomber Long A has been a mainstay for years on the clear waters in the NH Lakes region forever. That color really turns them on. I've also caught more than a few largemouth on it too, but my go to color is bone/orange and it does double duty as a jerkbait and a topwater twitch bait as well. God, I need to go fishing!

I like both the X-Raps and Long A's. Both great fish catchers. The Long A's require more action by the angler, jerking and reeling. The X-Raps will do with just a twich, twich and pull. So, if you're sore or the water is really cold, maybe the X-rap (or a Lucky Craft) is the better choice. If the water is warmer...work that Long A. I've also had good luck in cold water (46 degrees) with the Smithwick Rattling Rogues. But no so much when it warms over 52.
