Hello to everyone. I've just registered for the forum and hope I can give some information to anyone wishing to fish the southern end of the Connecticut river or southwestern New Hampshire.
Also,I have been bass fishing on southern Champlain for a few years now after a long time away from the lake. Used to fish there alto back in the 60's thru 80's with my dad for walleye. Always went out with him hoping the 'eyes weren't around so we could go bassin' instead! But he knew the reefs good and usually found them.
I love to fish for bass but enjoy everything from pan fish to pike.
good fishin',

Welcome. And I was out there with my friends dad chasing walleyes south the same years you were. Had a lot of fun and still have a lot of good memories. I fish south too out of Buoy 39 where I have a camp.

Brian, we used to fish walleye from Button Bay south to the bridge. Best areas were around the islands south of Arnold's Bay. We stayed a week or two at Shawnee Shores cottages every summer from '59 to '86. Liked catching 'eyes but the smallmouth were what I was there for. The fish used to be alot shallower back then. Smallies were always around the weed beds all day/year 'round. Back then if you got a largemouth he was lost!
Hope that some day the 'eyes come back. Everyone in that area laments the fact that they are all but a memory today. OK, from now on I'll try to keep it about bass. Just had to reminisce.

For me it was the mid 60's mostly and we fished for anything that bit. We were further south down below Plunder Bay along the ledgers back when the water color is what it is now.
OK, back to bass. Wish I could catch some! Hope to be up again late next week.

Just found this message board. Looks like a great board! I am Nate L. I have a TV Fishing show call LAKES REGION FISHING it airs Sunday mornings on Fox 44 at 7:30 AM, New season of shows start in January. If you dont get the channel some of my shows are on the internet at www.myoutdoortv.com under the fishing directory. I am always looking for feedback which helps me strive to make it better. It a real show no piecing of segments what you see is one day of fishing-no staging of shots its all real. I also have a guide service in VT & NY. Looking forward to future posting!

Hey Nate, welcome aboard. Think you will find a good bunch here. I'm south east of Albany so can't say I've come across your show but good luck. Look forward to your posts, maybe you can include some video.

I had been airing on Fox 23 out of Albany, but fox 44 and fox 23 have not been able to sync the shows properly so I pulled out of the Albany Fox for the next quarter and will be back in that market. I am on interent at www.myoutdoortv.com click on fishing show directory and then click on Lakes Region Fishing... I think have half of my shows up and are putting the remaining shows of 2011 up. We will be sending them 2012 shows right after they air on network TV. Hope you enjoy the shows.. I did one on the Mohawk River, 2 on lake george last year. I Did Saratoga and Ballston lake plus 2 on champlain and 2 on Lake George, also Oneida and St. Lawrence for 2012 airings. I lived inAlbany for 18 years.. great area of the state to be for fishing!!

I may have seen a couple of those after all. Will check out on line. I know, there is a lot of fishing around here but I always end up on Champlain. If you've never fished the Hudson in the catch and release only section (I used to fish between Lock 1 and 2 mostly), there is some great small mouth fishing there. Not sure how it is while the dredging is going on though. Haven't fished it in a number of years.
