Had a great day Saturday on Southern Champlain. 34 fish, most were LM, couple pike and 1 bowfin. 2 lm were over 5, most were 3. Fish were ready to eat! Nice to be out again

That is awesome . The first day of spring in VT and you got 34 LMB. What a great start to the season. I'm jealous.

Hey Brian ... I was out today setting nets in southern Champlain. I have one up near Larabee's and one in Peter's Bay. 44.7-F in Peter's Bay and 44.9-F at Larabee's.
This week will slow it down some though with the cold temps. We need more water in the lake though. Lake level this morning at 9am was only 96.97' f.a.s.l. Usually this time of year we're sitting about 99.5' to 100.5'. We're more than 3 feet lower than normal. Alot of the marshes are very low, and most of the woods that are usually under water are not.

We caught them on spinner baits, rattle traps, swim baits, senko, and worms--- it really didnt matter. Most of the lake was 43, but we did find some 49-50, which is where we caught most. Really surprized how agressive they were. Also surprized about the bowfin--- normally dont see them much until mid-May.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm not ready yet logistically to get the boat out, but I'm looking forward to around April 4th or 7th. We got over two inches of rain Mon-Tue and the CT river is ripping! Hopefull up to South Bay the following week, my instincts tell me it'll be ready.
