Spent my last day on the water for 2010 at the CT river (Vernon dam pool). Water temp was 42, same a last week but the current was back to normal for the fall. Spent a little time looking for walleye but most of the day targeting smallmouths.
The ones I found were 28' to 30' deep. Five of the six I caught were on jigging blades (silver buddy type NBS lures), one on a drop shot. Also had a few bites that unbuttoned in the depths. The learning curve is not setting the hook hard on a snag ;D, thus maybe getting the lure back. I'd lost my last two by days end. A fun day to end my season.
I winterized the boat today. A good season, 68 days out on my boat, two out on another's boat and several bank fishing outings. Looking forward to spring already.

Wow! 68 days on the water! Unbelieveable. I thought I did alright this year with about 15! Nice season Brian!

Wow! 68 days on the water! Unbelieveable. They weren't all full days, but I won't take the boat out unless I can get 4 1/2 hours minimum. It's just too hard to quit! The CT river is only 25 minutes away.

It would be fun to know how many times everyone got out this past season. My total for the season was 52. Like Brian I don't go unless I can get 4 hours, even though I can be fishing in about 30 minutes. What was your total? Bob
