Mike and I launched out of St. Albans Bay Sunday morning. I wanted to test the theory that cooler water temps would bring the smallies up shallower. We worked a rocky shoreline starting in 7' and found some nice sized fish. We fished two similar rocky shorelines in 5-7' and wound up catching 13 keepers with 5 fish from 3-3.75 lbs for a bag of 16 lbs. We returned to the same areas on Monday and got better numbers (23) and bag of 19 lbs+ including a 4.875 SM. Overall we caught 10 fish between 3-3.75 lbs and the 4.875. Not one undersized fish and only 6 under two lbs. I'm thinking that the Fall pattern has started. 4.875 SM Bob

Love to hear that. I can usually only be on the water when it's dark so it's getting harder for me...but I'm looking forward to hitting the lake while the sun is up some time this upcoming week.
Nice fish!

Very nice! Glad that you guys had a rod bending trip. What was the water temp? The BFD was reporting 60 degrees today.

Hey Bob, just registered on the site, pretty nice site, more bass fishing over here. Read your report, guess I'll keep this info in my pad for the following trips to the Champ. Keep them coming.
Thanks
