What is everybody's favorite crank for medium (5-8 foot) depths and what is your favorite crank for deeper (8-12 foot) waters.
I have been using a LC RC 2.5 DD lately for the deeper stuff and I really like it. However, I don't have a confidence crank for the medium water. I throw Speed Traps a lot but they are pretty infective in water deep than about 5 foot.

I really like the Rapala DT series. The DT 10 and DT 6 would work in the ranges you are talking about. I have tried the SK series 5 and series 3, have to say I have been disappointed. I like crankbaits that run true right out of the box, and it has not been the case for me.

The RC baits are great and don't need to be tuned. The 1.5DD goes around 8 feet. I have had good luck with these. I have also had good luck with the Bomber fat free cranks but I always have to tune them and some are beyond tuning. When they are on though, they can catch fish.

Hmmm. I have used the DT 7 Flats a bunch and done squat on them. i will have to look at the regular DT 6's. I have not bought many of the RC cranks but I have heard nothing but good about them.

Bandit crankbaits run true right out of the package. The 200 series is for 4' to 8' (I can't get 8' out of it) and the 300 series runs 8' to 12'. They are inexpensive and have a smaller body than most baits.

I agree on the Bandit cranks! I've run Bandits for a long time, but recently have started fishing Lucky Craft RC's and Strike King 3-5 Series. No reason that I can think of for why I stopped fishing the Bandits. They are still on the box, and I certainly remember catching many nice fish on them. After reading that review, I should start running them again. Those new color patterns look wicked!
