I had an enjoyable morning today on South Pond after getting skunked yesterday at Lake Townshend. Limited out on rainbows in about 3 hours of fishing, and was back in Guilford for lunch. Three of them were 13-1/2" the smallest was 12". Nice to see the sun again!

Nice catch! Those would seem to be growing well given they were all under 12” when stocked. South Pond has a few big browns in it as well. They are not often caught but some fish over 8 lbs. have been caught there.

8 pounds! Wow. I thought I'd done well last year with a 21" brown there. Someone else told me there were some relatively big brookies in there, too. But I've never caught a brook trout there in three years.
The 21" was bittersweet catch. I was trying for an MA pin that year, and 22" would have made it.

I doubt you will find a brookie there. Never ever saw one, caught one or heard of any taken there. May have gotten some bad intel on the brookies.
