Got out for an evening boat ride' steak and salad and a bit of smallie fishing in the same area I was in Wednesday. Jerkbaits were getting slammed. Watched plenty of fish hit my lure and take off. Water cooled off from 55 to 53 with a southwest wind pushing colder water in. Caught 13. And grabbed this bonus fish. 23". My fiance alex told me I was a bit frantic bc I couldnt decide if I wanted to keep it! Filled the lovewell put it in. Got away from the 2 ft of water where my 1.5kvd squarebill caught it and measured it in deeper water. Got a bunch of pictures where Alex said I have no idea of they came out good. And then tossing the idea of dinner vs release I tossed it back. We are going away this weekend to north east kingdom so dinner plans wouldnt have worked out. I'm ok with it! I duno if I'll get back for anymore mid lake smallie fishing as this warm weather kicks up! 80 degrees woah! Family time is just as important as fishing though.

Nice rainbow. Probably was stocked nearby in Lewis Creek. The Creek was loaded with the little ones last week. Nice to think that it got a chance to grow before it got eaten by the run of smallies that go up the creek to spawn not to mention the other predators it avoided in the lake.
