Launched the "second love of my life"today for the first time. May have tried to use an imaginary foot break just once haha. Boat is awesome and such an upgrade!
Monkton pond was 41- 42 on south side and 43 to 44.5 on north end. No fish caught for my friend in his boat and mine in cold water total 5 bass north end for us. All chatterbait. Nothing big but hey... I'm happy. Still hoping to launch at larrabees saturday fully understanding it may be too soon. But 55 and calm winds partly cloudy... hard to pass up. Plan B is head to monkton for the afternoon which should warm up even more after another 2 days of mild temps.
Tomorrow I plan on taking my stepdad out on champlain to drive around a bit only and get more familiar w the boat. Hope everyone can get out saturday. I'm out of touch w posting pictures so I'll have to learn again.

Postimage is easy to use. If I can figure it out anybody can. No skunk is a good start any day! Seems like this is one of those years where the fish aren’t all fired up after ice out. Never could understand why some years they will chase and readily take a lure and other years you could drop a live crawdad on there nose and they’d refuse it. I got some last night on a swim jig after blanking on Chatterbait, jerkbait and rattletrap. Going out again now. Hope they bit on Champlain for you.

Jim W just sent me a picture. He got a pig! Waiting on weight info. If I had to guess, six easy but pictures can be deceiving. Looked like a calum lake with cloudy skis. Looks cold.

Thanks for the post! Lots of ice in Southern VT still. Harriman, Sadawga, Raponda not showing signs of letting go. Soon

Thanks for the post! Lots of ice in Southern VT still. Harriman, Sadawga, Raponda not showing signs of letting go. Soon Well apparently my good friend Jim pranked and the picture he sent was from 3 years ago, on Kentucky lake, and him/John got no bass, a pile, and a pickerel. They did however laugh at me all afternoon (rightfully so I'll add) while not catching much. Main lake 42, setbacks 44 and moderately high.
