Roy and I got together on Champlain during the cold water period way back in April. There was nothing to report....'cause we caught nothing, nada. I don't recall if we even had a bite. But, it was fun, and great to get out in Roy's new (to him) boat. So, now it's cold water period fall, we go back to Champlain. Actually the water at 50 degree wasn't all that cold, the air was, the squalls were, and the bite was a bit "chilly". But, we caught fish and savored each one, as there weren't that many . Dirty water didn't help, weird weather didn't help either. The cleaner water gave us most of the bites but the fish didn't seem to be there in any pattern. One here, one there, a hit or two. I was happy with the 2 bass, 2 pickerel and hybrid I boated. I think Roy was too with a couple more bass (than I) and 3 pickerel. Pike weren't in the mix at all. A good day for schodackbassman to be out . Good to be out again. Looking forward to our spring cold water outing, can't wait in fact. Got a hybrid to hit the chatterbait, just before the squall blew us out This snow squall went south, yea! Looked like a funnel cloud for awhile

Always good when we get together even when fishing is not so good. We have had our moments under tough conditions but those may have been the most severe. Like they say timing is everything. Had we hit the lake pre storm there would have been quite a few more fish caught. We’ll be back! Beautiful hybrid! And someone took a nice pic too😉😆
