It's been awhile since we had a couple decent pics to post. Been catching plenty of fish, but having fun with small ones . Had a bust of a pike trip to Champlain a oouple of weeks ago, water too muddy. But we enjoyed the scenery from Orwell Bluff down through the Narrows. Next time we'll go where we were told to go . Anyway, it's fall transition time. Never a cinch anywhere, and the CT River can be pretty fickle. Especially when the water is in mid 60's, high, south breeze and no current to speak of. So we just went fishing...as we do most often. Caught a few too. This 19 3/4" bass ate Diane's Ned Jig on a nothing bank adjacent to deep water then spit up an impressive craw... some smallies were active under a couple of oaks trees that were dropping acorns, dropped a senko and was rewarded

Couple nice fish. The acorn bite huh, that's a new one on me! BTW - pike bite still hot as of last Saturday. We lost a dozen baits between Shawn, Jim, and I. Chatterbait, craws, swim jig, jig, buzzbait, didn't matter. If it moved, those damn pike ate it! And we weren't even in my boat!

Wow! Nice bass Di! That’s a great fish anywhere. But B, doesn’t that nothing bank produce a nice one like that now and then? Anyway, good job putting Di on a good one and of course nice photos too. My fishing has been more or less the same. The more part being pike😎,the less part being bass😢 But that may be changing. Fished Wednesday afternoon and had great pike action on topwater. Much to my surprise the bass were interested too! Buzzbaits shallow, swim baits along deep weededges and open water where bass were chasing bait. Thursday more of the same but more bass than pike and all but a few came on buzzbaits and toads. Wore myself out throwing the BB. Made enough casts to catch a Muskie if you know what I mean! Let’s all hope fall fishing is as good as it can be.

It was funny Saturday Roy, almost nothing was chasing. Didn't have one pike hit, a miracle this fall. Some of my favorite places were mud holes. Especially on the west side. East side was clearer for some reason. Ended up with 9 with one going 4.7 and a 3. Had 5 LM and 4 SM. All shallow and most on a jig or swim jig. Not even a hint on a buzz bait and I finally took it off. Strange year. Going back up tomorrow.
