Launched Wednesday with Mike and a nice 12-15 knot wind. The wind was a blessing with the sun cooking at about 88 degrees. Fished for about two hours with only a few fish, but all good sized SM between 2-3 lbs. The n we began noticing flurries on the top of the water here and there, indicating bait fish being chased. If we got to the flurry before it left we had a very active bite. The fishing were feeding voraciously. Every strike was hard. Of course the bait kept moving and I didn't want to turn on the big motor to chase. This all lasted for about 1 1/2 hrs. When the bait disappeared so did the bass. We caught 18 fish. Two were 4.75 and 4.25. 4.75 4.25. We tried Rat-L-Traps, top water, C-Rig Lizard. Crank baits, spinner baits and drop shot and caught 0 fish (except perch). All fish caught on wacky Senko We went back to the same place Thursday and found no bait fish and few bass. This time we weren't blessed with any wind. We caught 8 bass that I would call random catches- no pattern. A fish just happened to be there. The heat was killer and the fish weren't biting. We quit a little after three with 8 fish caught with largest 3.25 lbs. I don't think you can call catching two fish a pattern but we did catch a couple of fish hiding under floating bunches of weeds that were churned up. I'm not sure that this picture is clear enough to see what I mean. Things can only get better. Bob

Gotta love it when you come across a school of bait getting busted by some bass. I'm guessing that second smallie went in the frying pan?

Actually he swam away. Don't know why he bled so much as he wasn't hooked badly and we got him back in the water quickly. Bob

Except for the heat, sounds like a good time. Those fish busting bait would only hit the Senko? Were the hits immediately after the bait hit the water? As if it were the splash sound that triggered the bite?
Thanks for the report.

Brian, We were fishing Senkos when they started feeding. They hit the Senkos, so we didn't try anything else. It was before and after the feeding that we tried other things mentioned. I'm sure that they would have hit the spinner bait, crank bait or Rattle-L-Trap. bob

It's always a blast to find a feeding frenzy, thanks for the reply.
