The ice is all but gone everywhere on and along the CT River. In fact it’s been gone for a week or more in the Hinsdale area. Boats have been out since then but reports have been fishing is slow but some are being caught. I’ve been a little busy but have put in some time recently on some of the VT setbacks and have been catching decent numbers. Jerkbait has been best, rattle baits catching some but nothing on chatterbait or swim jig. Most fish have been small to average for me but a friend who has put in considerably more time has got some good ones. Haven’t put the boat in, no need for it down here and probably do better from shore anyway. So easy to fish this time of year. A couple key lures and a place to cast is all you need. No picture worthy fish but a very handsome gobbler at the backyard bird feeder.
