Neither of us really wanted Sunday to be our last day fishing Champlain. So, we headed up again on Thursday. A little more sure of what we'd find there. But, Champlain being Champlain, conditions were different. The SW winds on Wednesday had muddied up the VT side of the lake. Add the lack of sunshine and wind chill, well, it wasn't happening there for us. Stuck to cleaner water north of Larabbe's on NY side. Had a pretty decent day. Once again power fishing didn't work, not at all. Sunday we got a few bites on bigger/flashier stuff, but nothing at all on Thursday. Small jigs and trailers landed 18 bass, 13 pickerel and 3 small pike between us. As with Sunday most of the bass came from one area, but a different one. Roy had a spot on the area dialed in and we had some fun. Water temps stayed 45 degrees. Next year we'll hit the 45 degree period in the spring again . lunker for the day 4 lb 6 oz. not only a bass, but the most blue sky we saw all day, despite a forecast that called for sun in the morning. Oh well at least it didn't rain

Geez, I missed that blue sky cuz my back was turned😕 Good way to end the year for the weather geeks. They had an exceptional year blowing the forecasts. Went down to CT today to do yard work for my dad. Forecast was for sun by mid morning and temps in the high 40’s. By noon it was snowing and 39 degrees. Good job geeks. Regardless of the weather Brian and I had a good day. It would have been better had the sun actually shown itself and the previous day had not been so nasty. I was not ready to quit after our Sunday trip, in fact I was pretty bummed that my last day on the water might have been 11/3. Somehow just one more trip has me feeling much better and once I get somethings out of the way during the upcoming week I’ll evaluate the current weather and water conditions and contemplate one last trip. Not likely though. If this is it it’s been a good year, maybe even great at times but definitely a weird one and some pretty miserable weather. Here is one of the bigger pickerel we landed. A 24” that has a big bluegill bulge in its stomach

Good job guys, it was a tough fall for sure. Watching the weather up this way from down in Florida last week made me glad I was down there.
