I am going camping at Kampersville on Lake Dunmore in Salisbury/Middlebury this weekend and I'm wondering if there are any good spots to fish from shore or is this a boat only lake if you want to catch nice bass?

You should ask at the office. Maybe they know some friendly camp owners on the lake. Maybe you could fish off the right side at the state park for a shore fishing outing? From what I know of Dunmore I would say it's best fished from a boat.

Hmmm...maybe I'll bring a rod or two and a small variety of my tackle just in case but it sounds like i probably won't find much . I think I remember now last year when we went and the guy said maybe at the Branbury State Park boat access there could be some fishing.

Lots of places to fish if you go to Champlain. Shore fishingnear Larrabee's Point, Benson, Shoreham, Addison. Take a ride over you may find a good place. Lots of people fish for cats from shore during the summer.

Oh I'm sure and I wouldn't mind just fishing and catch and release but my wife is a Filipino and they LOVE to eat fish so she doesn't like the whole catch and release aspect of fishing...lol. She also says that we spent way too much money on fishing rods, reels and tackle to just throw back a perfectly good fish. I do release any of the dinks we catch though and only keep the large ones. She also is scared to eat any fish from Champlain as she's read where they are very high in mercury. If I can sneak over to the State park nearby I might do that but we are camping so there probably will be more than enough to keep me busy .
