I got out with my fishing partner today and we launched out of Georgia shore at about 0515. The water was like glass with 0 wind. We made the move to Savage island. starting with surface baits and jerkbaits, nothing was following and nothing was on the graph...We also noticed the Slimy weed beds were all over in the rocks around the island...I have never caught anything decent in the slime weed, so we moved on- We moved to Ball Island and we catch 5 to include this one for a Master angler entry:

We caught all of our smallmouth off the bottom with several different finesse, deep water presentations. With all of the pre-fishing last week and the beginning of this week, I knew that I would have to have something a little bit different to get a bite.
We really did not set the world on fire today, boating about 8 fish in 9 hours...but it was great to get out and try some new presentations for deep clear water...I can mark the Master angler smallie off my list...now I need to focus on other species
