Have not had too much luck ice fishing so far this year. Got a late start, weather has been iffy and have not been able to dedicate a lot of time. But today things clicked. Bluegill provided most of the action but crappie and pumpkinseed were around too. Perch unfortunately very scarce so far. Fish were relating to a sparsely weeded area and pretty much smack on the bottom in about six feet of water. A tungsten tear drop shaped jig and a few spikes worked best. A nice 12.5" crappie Ice fishing essentials, hot coffee and hot food a must. I had the stove while someone else worked the grille. My catch Filleting duties are shared between us old geezers as the kids look on.

I knew you'd get into them sooner or later. Looks cold, like most of this winter so far. The Monday snow storms have interupted my fishing opportunities .

I knew you'd get into them sooner or later. Looks cold, like most of this winter so far. The Monday snow storms have interupted my fishing opportunities . Was not too bad, in fact one of the better days weather wise. Snow was steady for sure but no wind for the first time this year. Fish are either moving in or beginning to bite. Activity level on a scale of 1 to 10 was a 7 with all the rest of my outings a 1-3. Even got a Master Angler gill at 10"!
