Too cold for tip-up fishing Monday at Harriman. Dragged out the pop-n-fish and fished two jigging rods. After two moves I found the fish right where they were last week. Shoulda started there.... One rod was rigged with Hali jig/minnow and a high hook teardrop. The other rod with Clam Half Ant and high hook teardrop both with soft plastics. The minnow rig would get hit first, but they both fished well.
The fathead minnow that was rigged on the low hook Hali jig was probably stripped off, so this perch hit the high hook tear drop w/ poli.
Had a good time gettting all the perch I wanted and half dozen or more smelt that I didn't want. Smelt were running small, usually they are larger at Harriman. A good sign perhaps.
Made a couple of tacos with last weeks perch fillets.
