went ice fishing with the family on sunday to Rowe pond in Mass for our first outing of the year. I couldn't even get the second tip up in the water before the first one went off and it was non stop action until I ran out of the 2 dozen shiners I bought. all were pickerel but they were a lot of fun anyways. my youngest boy Brody had a great time and was really into yanking the fish out of the hole and then playing with the shiners in the bucket. last year he was a real handful out on the ice and wanted to leave within 10 minutes, but this year he was a trooper and lasted at least 4 hours before he wanted to leave to go to Mimi and Papa's house. they live right down the road from there so it's really convenient. my older boy Dylan was an old pro at hauling the fish in and had a great time also. after the boy's went to my parents my wife and I took our time picking up the last 3 tip ups and she caught this nice 25 1/2 inch pickerel for her first pin fish of the year. Mass just started a catch and release pin fish awards this year, prior to this you had to kill the fish to officially weigh them in. there are a ton of nice pickerel in there and some nice largie's too, so hopefully we get some more this year. it was a good start to the year, Jeremy.

Great pictures. That one of your son is a million dollar shot. Makes you smile at the thrilled look on his face. That should be on the front of some outdoor magazine!
