The Chittenden County Bassmasters are holding their annual October opens again this year, The Iron Man and Last Hurrah. Many of you are familiar with and competed in these events. This year we are adding a little twist and a bit of charity, if it works we hope to continue it in the coming years.
Why the change:
A LONG TIME member of our club has Cancer. I can pretty much guarantee that you have fished with or next to this man if you have been on the lake longer than 30 minutes in your life. He's been in our club over 25 years! The kicker is that he needed to have a heart valve transplant this July just to be strong enough to survive the Cancer treatments. In talking to him he is hoping to have his Cancer surgery/treatments in December because he will have saved up enough money to afford the treatments/aftercare. The thought of waiting for treatment so he could afford it made us want to do something.
The change:
So instead of the usual 100% payout we have for the Iron Man and Last Hurrah, we will pay out 75% to the top 3, plus Lunker and donate the 25% to our member in need, for each of the opens.

10/12/2014 The Iron Man Open. Malletts Bay Launch, 7am start to 3pm weigh in. $50 per boat. 6 Fish per boat
10/19/2014 The Last Hurrah Open. Malletts Bay Launch, 7am to 3pm. $50 per boat. 6 Fish per boat
