Will you be a boater or non-boater?
Even with such a large piece of the lake off limits you have a lot of water to fish. I think I would go north from Plattsburgh and look for weed lines in 8 to 10 FOW. Fish the weed lines like you would anywhere --- Pitch a jig or plastic, crank baits and spinner-baits. Look for long rocky points off some of the islands that are in the water you can fish. Drag a jig or maybe try a jerk bait.
I know this isn't much help but you are basically going to be searching for fish unless you have a boater that is familiar with the lake.
Good luck!

I'd have a Carolina rig on board too.

Me and my partner from my school use a pro-anglers boat that did not make the cut from the two days before in the FLW tournament, he just drives the boat and makes sure our catches agree with the rules. We tell him where to go and use his electronics and trolling motor and such. We have never been to the lake and can not fish the lake a week pryer to the event so we are pretty much goin in blind, thats why we need all the info we can get. i wish i could get on the lake friday the 16th with someone just to show us a couple of spots to go. any tips would be very helpful, i dont even know if we should focus on large or small mouth. haha thanks for all the help!

I will be fishing that tournament as well. I don't have a whole lot of experience in that end of the lake but a mixed bag usually does well. I will probably be fishing mostly plastics with a lot of dropshotting. Maybe a jig for some kicker largemouth.

Jody's team (Va. Tech) came in fourth. I was happy to take Jody out up North for a day before the tourney. They had an odd boundary limit for the tournament which excluded the Inland sea, where I fish the most. Bob
