Welcome Brandon and Jessica. We have a couple of wives who also fish on here though not in tournaments. We like to share info and often meet up on the water to talk and bust chops. If you see my me, please wave me down to say hello. I'm usually south lake. From your pictures I'd say we and several on here fish the same water. Think you will enjoy it here, we look forward to your reports. P.S. We are a simple bunch, we like pictures...

I believe most of Champlain is open as is Bomo but Champlain at least, is about at flood stage at 99.91 foot not that flooding is bad from a fishing stand point. Launching however can be interesting depending on where you go.

What would you suggest for a boat launch ! Where do you think my best bet will be to be able to launch In 2011 with water level at 101.7 ft. we launched at Larrabee's and it was fine. The setbacks in Hinsdale NH on the CTR have been ice free for several weeks. Water is dirty but clearing up. Welcome to the forum. Roy

Thanks roy. Never fish that far south on the Connecticut. Whats your opinon? where should I launch this sunday?? Just the wife and I headed out to make sure boats up to par and do a little fishing The Hinsdale launch is easy to find. From I-91 take exit one, turn left on Rt. 5/ Canal St. to 119 East to Hinsdale NH. At second light bear to the right across the river on steel bridge. You are now on 119 east. Follow 119 until you see a setback close to the road on your right. Bear right onto what I think is Prospect St. The launch is okay but has a hump at the end from power loading. Only a problem if water is low. You can access another large setback by passing thru the tunnel about 80 yards to the left. There is a sandbar as you head out to the main river where the setback meets the main river and continues south for some way. A few other hazards but the are a bit more obvious. I am told the Hanover area is open and would bet Orford is too. Champlain is good too, we fished it yesterday but had trouble catching them. Larrabee's was fine. Hoyt landing in Springfield is a closer option.

Thanks Roy, I saw on a picture yesterday of Bomo and it still had a little ice on it. Sorry about the miss-info. How muddy was Champlain? Asking about land and water?!
