Hello to all. A little about me:
For the most part I fish the CT River in Brattleboro area, small lakes in the Keene, NH area with scheduled trips to Lake Champlain(North Hero and Benson), St Lawrence - Thousand Islands area, and fish a tournament on Black Lake in September. Looking forward to using and participating on this site.
My boat is a Triton TR186.

Welcome Rick. Ice is pretty thick on the river right now but April is not too far away.

Welcome Rick, glad you found us. I met Rick at Bass University in Worcester over the weekend. We got talking and found he was from Vermont and told him about our little group here. Think he will fit right in. Rick and I plan to get out come spring. I also told him about Rutland Bass as he may be interested in joining our club. Rick's recently retired too so we can get out mid week while most of you guys are at work.....

Yeah and it looks like we are going to get whacked again.

Yeah and it looks like we are going to get whacked again. Seems like after a hard winter the fish are more aggressive in the spring. No science behind that at all but it always seems to be that way. We should see some very high water this spring which can lead to some good fishing. Hard to say how high Champlain will get but on the CT River and along it's tribs there is very heavy ice pack.

Hard to tell on levels. Lake was low going into the fall so it can take some water. Issue will be whether the spring thaw is a normal slow one or we get a warm rain that melts everything at once. And - yep.

As long as there isn't a lot rain so my road isn't a mud hole.

Welcome to the forum ricks. I think I was fishing around you one day last fall near the Old Ferry ramp (and in years past). If you were the red boat that was fishing the middle, the east and west side using only the trolling motor. I'd be the tall guy in a tan/green Crestliner with mercury motor. I launch out of Norms until he closes, then Old Ferry or Hindale.

Yea, that was me. I love fishing that area that time of year and basically that is what I do- trolling motor up one side and down the other, gradually moving out to 22' or so. Have had some pretty good days doing that. Fishing deep with drop shot, silver buddy, and tube. I met Shodackbassman at Bass U a few weeks back and he introduced me to this site and I have been having a great time catching up on all the fishing conversation that has gone on here. Just finishing up page 14 - only 10 more to go. I definitely want to say hello the next time we meet up. And for sure want to spend some time up at Benson and Ti area this coming year and would be interested in talking to you some time about areas to fish, places to stay, eat, etc. One of these days I need to stop down and say hello to rgang4. Live in the same town and drive by his house every time I go to Brat. It is on my list of things to do....Looking forward to meeting you on the water......

I told Rick about our "meetings on the water" and how we help each other out both on the lake and occasionally with shopping. Funny it turns out he fishes around you guys on the CT as well as on Champlain.
