I arrived at 10:30 (STALLING, HOPING THE RAIN WOULD STOP) had the lake to myself, 2 kayakers were heading in because of the wind. Water temp 66-68 and a fairly stiff breeze. I got 10 LM all keepers: the largest was 4.4 2 just over 3.5 2 in the 2-2 3/4 range the other 5 were all about 1 1/2
9 came on a lipless crank and 1 on a crank. I tried a senko and a jig but the wind was not cooperating. Fog set in so bad I had 20 meter visability so I putted in around 3:30, cold, wet and happy with the results.
No spinnerbait action Brock, I tried.

Checking it out for our club tournament? How was the water level and launching. A couple of us are concerned that the water level may be too low but if you got your boat out there, it should be fine.
That is a nice lake isn't it? Clear, quiet and loaded with big largemouth.

I've never been there. Is there any grass? It's subject to draw downs I presume, like the reservoirs around here. Thanks for the post.

Sounds like a nice bunch of fish.
I am looking forward to the tournament.

I had another guy from our club say it was definitely 4 feet low but you can launch no probe and the fishing was great

This was only my second time there, so I'm not sure how low it is compared to normal. When you back your trailer in it drops about 6-8 inches before you're in far enough to off-load, but it didn't hurt anything.
I saw a few weeds starting in some of the back corners, but not many and not any large growth areas.
I understand this big draw down is for repairs. I don't know if it is subject to minor draw downs on a regular basis.
The biggest problem we will have is fighting off kayakers swimmers and shore fishermen that like to hang around the ramp based on my first trip there.

The ramp and parking lot can be very busy. Hopefully midweek will be much better than last year on a hot Sunday afternoon. You really need to watch those little kids when backing in. The parents seem to think swimming on the ramp is OK
