Looks like Benson and Larabees are open for business-- anyone been yet? Going to give Larabees a try Saturday.

Can’t say I have been out anywhere fishing. Been to cold. The ice is off some of the set backs on the CTR but others are locked up. I’m a bit skeptical all the ice is gone in the Benson to Larrabee’s area being ice out up there is often the same as down here. Last image I saw there was ice there and it looks like there is still some ice on South Bay. Hope it works out for you. Lake is at 96.7 ft.

Had a buddy check yesterday and he said all good. There was even a couple boats out. Still some shore ice in spots but most is open and landings are open

Put in at Larabees at 8 on Saturday am. Water 39-41 degrees and fairly clear, (except for lachute, which was dirty). Fished for 6 hours and wasnt able to put anything in the boat. Still ice about 1/2 mile north of ferry and still ice south of Fort View, but it is melting fast. When we arrived we used the south landing because the north landing bay was froze all the way out to the old train bridge-- when we left this bay was 100% water and we used the north landing. Saw alot of eagles, but the big nest at mouth of LaChute is not there this year.?? This was more or less a trip to check out my boat as anything, (although a fish would have been a bonus). I tore my motor apart this winter to replace the swivel mount and wanted to make sure I didnt screw anything up---all good. Good to get out and even got a little sunburn.

Thanks for posting and reporting what you found. The satellite imagery on the NOAA page showed ice exactly where you said it was so it appears to be a good way to check conditions from home. Nothing beats a first hand report though! Connecticut River and setbacks south of Brattleboro are ice free. Not many fishing yet and the ones who are are not finding many fish. I did get into a few yesterday after a few futile attempts from shore.
