Took a ride yesterday stopping at Bomoseen first where we found the lake to be more than 2/3 ice free. If I was alone I would have fished from shore at one spot. From there we went north to Larrabee's. Some ice in the bays and some along the shore but pretty close to gone looking north and south from the ramp.😄 Water color looked great and the level looked to be 97'. Hopeful it will come up more this week. screenshotFrom there we went to the bridge. Lots more ice there, especially looking west to Port Henry. Pretty dirty around the bridge area. The two creeks to the south running muddy. After lunch we went to OC and LOC. Few boats left from Ft. Cassin, trout and salmon fisherman I assume. Muddy up that way too but only the creeks. The lake looked nice and was very calm late afternoon. Time to put the gear in the boat and get fishing! Thinking my first trip will be Easter Sunday.

thanks for the info-- headed to Larrabees Sunday! FYI the bay still had ice but the south ramp was clear. Would have posted pics but Photobucket has become impossible to use. Anybody using another imaging host? Good luck out there Sunday!

Hopefully 2 weeks! Otherwise its a friends boat for me... or canoe.

A friend helped me and we did it one evening putting in a front and rear deck. Got my first bass yesterday afternoon, a chunky little 2 lber. Caught another same size but had one big fish on that popped offðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ Only had an hour so I stuck with a Chatterbait.

Hit Larabees Sunday. No ice anywhere. Water was 39-42 and very dirty. Fished for 4 hours and couldnt make anything happen in my normal early spots-- guess it was too cold and too dirty.
Pulled out and went down to Saint Catherine. Water north and south was 46 and we caught a few nice LM.
Champ has finally filled, with water now up into the trees-- hoping for a good spring

Thanks predator! Smart move bailing when conditions are bad and good fishing is nearby or in your case on the way home.

Good to see water levels up. Hope to get up to camp next week or so to open it up. Haven't even looked at boat yet.

Brian and I went to Champlain on 4/15. Water was dirty most everywhere from Chipman Point to the paper mill. Probably the same throughout the south lake. Temps ranged from 46-49 in the a.m. to 49-52 in the p.m.
We managed to figure some things out and catch some fish. B was the photographer yesterday so I'll let his pictures tell the story.........if he can get Photobucket to work😕
